Other polls show Jindal leading

Several independent pollsters also have Bobby Jindal leading in the governor's race.

Verne Kennedy, Market Research Insight, Pensacola, Fla. has a tracking poll that puts Jindal at 48 percent to Blanco's 39 percent, with 13 percent undecided. The poll of 600 was conducted through Thursday night. It has a margin of error of 4 points.

A poll from Ed Renwick, head of the Loyola (New Orleans) Institute of Politics, was taken Oct. 25 through Nov. 3. It showed Jindal with 39 percent of the vote and Blanco with 38 percent. The Renwick poll of 600 voters has a margin of error of 4 points.

University of New Orleans political scientist Susan Howell conducted the UNO poll Oct. through Nov. 1. It put Jindal at 44 percent and Blanco at 40 percent. The poll of 731 voters had a margin of error of 3.7 points.
